RIP: A Country Legend Has Passed

Country music legend icon Mel Tillis passed away Sunday at the age of 85. Tillis' career spanned more than six decades, during which he wrote more than 60 albums and three-dozen number-one singles. He overcame a stammer in his speech that was brought on by a childhood bout with malaria. Mocked for his stammer, Tillis was able to use it in comedy on stage and screen. Daughter Pam Tillis took to Facebook (see below) to say the family is “so grief stricken” and asked for prayers saying an end of life celebration would be announced soon. “I am awed and  humbled by his legacy,” she writes. “As well as the out pouring of love  and support we are receiving.”
