BRITTA'S GERMAN APPLE BREAD
3 TO 4 CUPS of peeled, cubed apple chunks
1 Tablespoon Vanilla
8oz. Sour Cream
2 Cups Four
1 Cup Sugar
2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 Teaspoons ground Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon ground Cloves
1/4 Teaspoon ground Nutmeg
1/2 stick (melted) butter
3/4 cup Brown Sugar
Preheat oven to 350 degrees......Grease one standard size bread pan, set aside....In a large mixing bowl combine eggs, sugar, sour cream and vanilla....mix well. Then add spices, salt, baking powder and baking soda, flour....mix well. Then add the apple chunks....mix well until all are combined. Spoon the batter into the bread pan...should be a very moist consistancy with chunks. In a small microwavable bowl melt the butter.....then stir in brown sugar until well mixed....then drizzle over the bread batter. Place the bread pan onto a cookie sheet (this helps with clean up if the bread and topping rises over the sides).....place the cookie sheet (with bread pan) on the center rack of the oven. Bake for One Hour and 10 minutes. Let cool for at least a half hour...serve warm or cold.....SO MOIST AND YUMMY!!!
