MICHIGAN APPLE TORTE
~ 3/4 cup and 2 Tbsp. Flout
~ 1/2 cup or 1 stick of butter (softened)
~ 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Blend together flout,butter, sugar and vanilla until a dough forms....Press into a 8 inch sprin-form pan (that has been sprayed with non-stick baking spray). cover bottom and about 1 1/2 inches up the sides of the pan with crust dough. set aside.
~ 1 -8oz. package of (softened) cream cheese
~ 1 whole egg
~ 1/4 cup sugar
~ 1/4 tsp. vanilla
~ 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
Blend together cream cheese, egg, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon until smooth batter forms. Pour batter onto crust.
~ One large Michigan Apple, cored and sliced into nice 1/4 inch slices (with peel still on if desired)
~ 2 Tbsp. sugar
~ 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
~ 1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
~ 1/2 cup sliced almonds
Combine apples with the sugar and spices...gently toss apples to coat. Place the apple mixture on top of the filling batter. Sprinkle with almonds....Bake on center rack at at preheated 350 degrees for 60 - 70 minutes. cool completely (refridgerate) until serving time....remove from spring form pan for presentation. Enjoy!
