Just in from the National Weather Service.  It goes into effect at 4am Thursday and will be in effect until 7pm Friday.

The Weather service says Thursday could be ferocious.  It will start early with 

a mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow.   Ice build ups could total a quarter inch.  That will all give way to rain Thursday afternoon and maybe some Thunderstorms. Those storms have the chance of becoming severe, with hail, and even an isolated tornado.    Wind gusts will to 50 MPH.

Thursday evening expect colder weather, snow squalls, and winds 
of 25 to 45 miles per hour. That will last into Friday.

It could be worse... the UP may get 10 inches of snow, and the
Kewanau may get a blizzrd.
