A Walmart shopper witnessed a police officer buying groceries for a family after their card was declined and shared the touching story on Facebook. The post was shared many times and the police department in Cleveland, Tennessee heard about it and discovered it was their School Resource Officer Mike Kelly who was the hero that day.
Officer Kelly was working a security job at Walmart that day and he says he felt God tell him to go help these people so they wouldn’t go hungry. He says he bought the groceries to encourage others to do random acts of kindness.
"Scrolling through random Facebook posts and then see this one that makes us ALL proud to be Cleveland police officers," the department posted on their Facebook page about Kelly. “It is guaranteed that Kelly wouldn’t want the credit from this, but it’s these random acts of kindness that inspire US ALL to be kind to others!”
