What’s It About?
Kidman plays Nancy Vandergroot, a seemingly picture-perfect wife, mom, and teacher in—you guessed it—Holland, Michigan. But, because this is a thriller and not a Hallmark movie, things get dark.
Nancy and a coworker (played by the always-amazing Gael García Bernal) start uncovering secrets about her husband (Matthew Macfadyen, aka Tom Wambsgans from Succession), and let’s just say… this dude might not be as wholesome as he seems.
The vibe? Think Gone Girl meets The Stepford Wives with a side of West Michigan realness.
Wait… Was It Actually Filmed in Holland?
Well, kind of. Some scenes were shot in Holland last April (so if you saw some movie magic happening, now you know why!). But most of the filming went down in Nashville, Tennessee—which, honestly, is kind of a bummer. That said, the trailer still captures the small-town charm and eeriness we all know and love.
