Since news broke of Mary J. Blige's divorce from her estranged husband, Kendu Isaacs, many have been wondering how she's been dealing with it.
In an interview with ABC News' Robin Roberts, the singer/songwriter spoke about this difficult time in her life. She admitted that coping with the separation hasn't been easy. "My heart is OK, I’m hanging in there. I mean, no one wants to go through this and this is hard. I’m hanging in there," MJB said.
That's when she revealed what the last straw was in her failed marriage. “The breaking point was when I kept asking over and over and over again for respect and to be respected. And it just seemed like I was beating a dead horse and it seemed like I was talking to a wall," she said. "I just wasn’t getting it back so if I can’t get respect in the relationship, then I have to move on and save myself. That was the point where I was like, ‘I’m done. I just can’t do it anymore.'”
Blige also gave some advice to women who are going through the same love-life struggles that she's going through, as well as explained how performing helps her feel better.
