When the crew of Engine five with the Roseville Fire Department in Roseville, California responded to an emergency medical call over the weekend, they really went above and beyond the call of duty. A dad was home with his two kids when one needed to go to the hospital in an ambulance, so the firefighters stayed behind with the little girl so she didn’t have to experience that scary ride or frantic hospital visit.
The crew stayed with the girl until her mom returned home so the dad could take care of the other sick or injured child at the hospital. And to entertain this little girl, they read her books.
A photo shared to the Roseville Fire Department’s Facebook page shows Engineer Burns squeezing himself into a tiny chair to read a story to the little girl. While he risks his life in the line of duty all the time, this is what a real hero looks like!
