Yahoo says that ALL of its three-billion user accounts – including email, Tumblr, Fantasy and Flickr – were breached in a 2013 hacking that it previously said affected one-billion accounts. The tech company announced yesterday new information came to light with the help of outside forensics experts.
"The company recently obtained new intelligence and now believes, following an investigation with the assistance of outside forensic experts,” parent company Verizon said in a statement. “All Yahoo user accounts were affected by the August 2013 theft.”
An investigation into the matter shows that the information that was stolen doesn't include passwords in clear text, credit card data or bank account data. Yahoo is notifying the users whose accounts were affected by this new information.
