At CRS this week in Nashville, one country star bravely stood up to support the #MeToo Movement
Vince Gill is sharing his #MeToo story with fans at Nashville's Country Radio Seminar. The icon told a crowd at the Ryman Auditorium on Tuesday he was assaulted by a school gym teacher in the 7th grade.
“I had a gym teacher that acted inappropriately towards me and was trying to do things that I didn’t know what … was going on,” I got up and I ran.
And I don’t think I ever told anybody my whole life.” He said he never had the guts to share his story, but the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements gave him courage. Gill's performance was one of the only ones that night to receive a standing ovation.
