Woman's Obituary Shocks Readers

posted by Matt Gilcheck -

Kathleen Dehmlow’s obituary starts off with the standard when she was born, who her parents were, the name of her husband and kids, etc. But at sentence four, things take an awkward turn. It reads: “She abandoned her children, Gina and Jay, who were then raised by her parents.”

The obituary recently ran in the “Redwood Falls Gazette” in Redwood, Minnesota and it reveals some pretty surprising stuff, including that Dehmlow “became pregnant by her husband’s brother and moved to California” from Wabasso, Minn., in 1962, leaving her children in the care of her parents.”

So her now adult-children are still upset that their mom left them with their grandparents after running away with their uncle 56 years ago. And who can blame them, that’s pretty rough. But it’s the last two sentences of the obituary that are most shocking.

"She passed away on May 31, 2018 in Springfield and will now face judgement," the obituary ends. "She will  not be missed by Gina and Jay, and they understand that this world is a better place without her."
