KENT CO., Mich. (via WOOD TV) — Police have shut down westbound I-96 at the Cascade Township line because of a traffic pile up involving at least a half dozen vehicles.
The crashes occured around 1p.m. near Whitneyville with only minor injuries reported so far.
UPDATE: (3:04pm) - Sources with WOOD TV are saying that at least 44 vehicles were involved, and three people have been transported to hospitals.
UPDATE: (4:13pm) - 96 Westbound is OPEN again at Lowell/Alden Nash/M-50.
