Chevy and Michelin Announce Airless Tire

It's called, "Unique Puncture-Proof Tire System" or Uptis.

Chevy will test them first on the Chevy Bolt EV in Michigan later this year.

The tires look quite different. There's no traditional sidewall. You can see right through them. They're made of a newly developed fiberglass material.

Chevy says they could be available commercially on passenger vehicles as soon as 2024.
