Matt'n'Aly: New Music Friday

It's a New Music Friday on B-93 and there is a lot out today!

You can hear a sneak peak of everything new with Matt'n'Aly every Friday at 8:20am.

Let's go...

First up is a new collab from pop singer JP Saxe featuring Maren Morris.

Line By Line is about Saxe and Morris' respective muses...Saxe is in a relationship with pop singer Julia Michaels, Morris is married to country singer (and Kalamazoo native) Ryan Hurd.

Maren says of writing with JP Saxe.

"I have always loved being contemplative of the artist vs. muse relationship in songs. ‘Line by Line’ acts as a promise that I’ll never be done writing about my muse in this life because he can’t be summed up in one song,” she said. “Writing that day with JP was the most fluid, inspiring session. He’s a lyrical faucet. He threw out the line ‘immortalizing my sincerity’ and it blew my mind."

Next is another collab from Tim McGraw and FGL's Tyler Hubbard.

Undivided was written by Hubbard during quarantine. At one point, battling COVID-19, Hubbard was living on his tour bus in his driveway and that's when he wrote it.

McGraw was on board as soon as he heard the lyrics.

Blake Shelton continues on his "singles only" mission. Will we ever see a full album from BS again? Not if he has any say in the matter. Back in a 2019 interview Blake said,

“I'll be just as happy to release just another single...I do have more songs and I've got other stuff that I'm pumped about, but when I think about an album right now I'm like, 'Do people are about them anymore?' I don't know. But I'm having a blast just releasing singles. Maybe I'll do that from now on."

Minimum Wage is described by Blake as a "classic country-love song that says you don't a lot of money or possessions to have love."

Devin Dawson has an EP out today. Devin finds the timing of these songs pretty wild. It is, by his account, a collection of the most inspirational/hopeful songs he's ever released.

There are six songs,

Ranger Rover

I Got a Truck

Not On My Watch

Whatever Forever Is

He Loved Her

Who's Gonna Hold Ya

Hunter Hayes has a new single, The One That Got Away, out today. It's the first single from an upcoming album, Red Sky (Part II).

Kip Moore has a new single out today, called How High. It'll be on the extended release of his Wild World album out February 12, 2021.

That just about does it for New Music Friday. Don't forget to tune in with Matt'n'Aly for a recap of everything new each Friday at 8:20am on B-93.
