I really want to be a person that reads.

You know those people? They're always reading something, or they just finished something. They always have a recommendation. Those people are cool people to me. I want to be those people.

So in an effort to be one of those people I'm planning to read more in 2023. Trouble is, I stuggle finding books I like - books that keep me coming back for more!

So I took to my Instagram - @alymaconair - to ask for some recommendations to get me started. Here are 5 books on my To-Read list for 2023...by the way, support your local bookstore!

  1. It Ends with Us, by Colleen Hoover - recommended by Amber: "If you haven't read It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover...I finished it in 2 days. It's intense, but so good!" Read the full plot description here.

2. lighter, by Yung Pueblo - recommended by Billy without any convincing. He just sent the Amazon link. Here's what the cover says: "let go of the past, connect with the present, expand the future." Read the full description here.

3.The Last Mrs. Parrish, by Liv Constantine - recommended by Jessica: "If you like thrillers!" Read the full plot description here. This is a Reese Witherspoon Hello Sunshine Book Club read and it's being adapted into a movie!

4.A Thousand Boy Kisses, by Tillie Cole - recommended by Ashley. I asked her, "Is that a book?" She said, "lol yes." Read the full plot description here.

5.Where the Crawdads Sing, by Delia Owens - recommended by Shawn. Read the full plot description here. As of July 2022, Owens was wanted by authorities for questioning over striking similarities her book has to a 1990 televised killing in Zambia. The book was made into a movie and was released summer 2022.

There you have it! Please feel free to send me your recommendations as well! You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, and Twitter!
