Dierks Bentley posted a photo in response to recent reports that he and his wife of nearly 20 years, Cassidy Black, opt to sleep in separate beds.

Bentley caught up with Bobby Bones on an episode of the BobbyCast earlier this week. During their conversation, the Arizona-born country star shared that he and his wife “don’t even sleep in the same room right now anymore. We’ve moved beyond that.” Bentley said. “She’ll move a tiny bit. I’ll feel it. So, years ago, I decided to separate church and state. And I got rid of our bed, and I’ve got two platform beds and two box springs and two mattresses. …I have my own duvet. She has her duvet. There’s a clear line. you can see the floor between her bed and mine. So it’s like independent suspension.”

Bentley posted photos on Instagram on Thursday evening (September 4) to show, “this is how we do it,” he wrote in his caption. “I like bouncing around in my old single axle, leaf spring Chevy truck, but we prefer ‘independent suspension’ when it comes to sleep. Turns out your grandparents knew what they were doing, as does most of the current world outside the US today. Just like a good mullet offers business up front, party in the back, this set up allows for both types of activities this room in the house is meant for. If you have this move in you, try it.”

Throughout the BobbyCast episode, Bentley talked with Bobby about “the controversy around his latest single sounding like an old Puddle of Mudd song and calling the band himself,” “a bizarre gift Tim McGraw gave him one time, how a private flight with Kenny Chesney led him to believe in manifestation and the 1 country song that made him want to be an artist,” and more.
