Just released: Video of Suspect being RAMMED on S-Curve

From Our Media Partners at Wood TV8

Warning: This report contains a mug shot of the suspect that some viewers may find graphic.

GRAND  RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Dashcam video shows a police cruiser hitting a  murder suspect on the S-curve in downtown Grand Rapids in September.

The  video, obtained by 24 Hour News 8 Wednesday via a Freedom of  Information Act request, also shows suspect Adam Nolin shooting at  officers before he was hit.

Authorities say Nolin killed his  girlfriend Tia Mae Randall, a 27-year-old mother of two, in Wyoming on  the morning of Sept. 27. Later, he led officers on a chase and then  crashed along busy US-131. He then got out of his pickup truck and  started shooting at officers, though none were hit.

The dashcam video shows that as he ran off across the highway, still shooting, a Grand Rapids Police Department officer hit Nolin with his cruiser.

The video is from both the cruiser that hit Nolin and another cruiser on the highway at the time.

Nolin sustained abrasions to his face, but he was out of the hospital and in jail within a few days.

Adam Nolin's Sept. 30, 2018, mug shot from the Kent County jail.     He faces charges of murder for Randall's death, attempted murder  for allegedly attacking two officers, fleeing police officer, carrying a  concealed weapon and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

A former officer and current criminal justice professor previously told 24 Hour News 8  that just like a sidearm, a cruiser can be used as a tool to stop a  violent suspect. Michigan State Police were investigating the use of  force, which is standard procedure.

Nolin is claiming he was the victim of police abuse.
