A Taylor Swift fan group, Swifties for Hope, is rallying fans to donate $13 or any amount they can to Feeding America in support of people affected by potential SNAP cuts.
Referencing Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” track “Father Figure,” the group wrote, “We Protect The Family,” adding “SNAP benefits will halt and the 42-million Americans who rely on them will need help.”
A judge recently ordered the government to keep paying SNAP benefits during the government shutdown.
Taking to X, Swifties for Hope also announced they’ve been successful in raising funds.
“Swifties, you honed your powers and helped us raise $22-thousand for hungry Americans...that’s 220,000 meals you funded! Thank you to everyone who helped spread the word and donated,” they shared, while noting they are still accepting contributions.
