Jim Carrey’s team is pushing back against online rumors that a “clone” or body double attended the recent César Awards in Paris, where the actor accepted an honorary prize. Addressing the speculation, his longtime publicist Marleah Leslie told “TMZ,” “Jim Carrey attended the César Awards, where he accepted his Honorary César Award.” The whispers gained traction after makeup artist Alexis Stone, known for their uncanny celeb disguises, posted a cryptic Instagram message reading, “Alexis Stone as Jim Carrey in Paris,” alongside a seemingly AI image of a latex mask and fake teeth.
César Awards general delegate Gregory Caulier also dismissed the claims in a statement to “Variety,” calling the rumors a “non-issue” and emphasizing the extensive planning behind Carrey’s appearance. Caulier said, “Jim Carrey’s visit has been planned since this summer...Eight months of ongoing, constructive discussions. He worked on his speech in French for months, asking me about the exact pronunciation of certain words.”
