Olympian Alysa Liu would like you to know that you're pronouncing her name wrong, but she's OK with it if you do.
The gold medal skater told "Newsweek" that no one outside her family gets it right, and offered up the right way to say her name.
The correct pronunciation is "Lee-oh,"not "Loo," as most people say it. Oh, and we're also getting her first name wrong.
Liu explained her family pronounces it "Ally-sa," but her friends and the rest of the world pronounce it the more common way, as "Alyssa." "I personally don't care," she added. "[My name] can be hard to [pronounce]. And I don't expect people to know how to say that."
