Frontier Airlines is getting serious heat after a video hit TikTok showing a tearful woman being booted from a plane. What did she do wrong? Apparently, the flight crew didn’t take too kindly to their instructions not being listened to…even though the woman in question is deaf. Ashley Grey’s video has surpassed two million views, and has a text caption asking, “What’s the point of listing that you’re deaf on the ticket” when the airline “refuses to accommodate?” A second text overlay said that a gate agent did try to “advocate for her accommodations,” but the flight crew “doubled down and removed her anyway.”

Talking with a few different media outlets, reps for Frontier tell a totally different story. The flight attendant involved says Grey “boarded the plane with an open container she admitted contained alcohol.” That’s a violation of “both Frontier policy and federal law.” When the flight attendant informed Grey of the violation, she then “rapidly consumed the remaining alcohol in the cup before handing it over.” The rep also refuted that there was any indication on (her) reservation that she was deaf or had any form of disability.”

Grey has since lawyered up, called the airline’s account of the story “false,” and has asked for a retraction…or be subjected to a lawsuit.
