A group of Seaman High School students in Topeka, Kansas, arrived at prom in the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile after one student had the brilliant idea to simply ask the driver for a ride. Breckan Andrews spotted the iconic hot-dog-shaped vehicle at a Dillons grocery store parking lot while with friends before prom on Saturday. He approached Maggie Dawson, one of Oscar Mayer's brand spokesperson drivers known as a "Hot Dogger," and asked for a ride, and she immediately said yes.
The next evening, the group loaded into the Wienermobile from a friend's driveway, surprising other friends who didn't know their ride was coming, and drove to the Townsite Ballroom downtown. Andrews told local TV stations it was just the kind of question he tends to ask: "You miss all the shots you don't take." Dawson said she had been looking forward to the moment all day, knowing she was about to be part of a lasting memory. The Wienermobile was in Topeka for a promotional tour that week.
