Why Didn't I Think of That...because it just makes that much sense.
On today's WDITOT, Champagne Mules.
Because OF COURSE!
I'm kicking myself I didn't come up with this on my own. It's basically a Moscow Mule with a Champagne topper...and brunch on Saturday is all of a sudden looking a little bit better!
Serve in a champagne glass with mint and a lime slice. YUM!
Now if you're an avid Moscow Mule consumer you probably have your own way of making them with your favorite Vodka and Ginger Beer...and I do too! My recipe below!
Aly's Moscow Mule/ Champagne Mule
1.5 oz Vodka
If I'm making em though, it'll have to be Tito's!
4 oz Ginger Beer
The spicier the ginger beer the better. I like Berritts Stone Bermuda Ginger Beer...grab it at Meijer.
Champagne
Juice of 1/2 lime
Lime wedge or slice, and mint.
The more mint the better for me!
How to prepare:
Get yourself a glass...I actually don't prefer my mules in a copper cup. I read an article that said those beautiful copper mugs may be bad for your health!
"It turns out, the Food and Drug Administration’s Model Food Code “prohibits copper from coming into direct contact with foods that have a pH below 6.0.” Examples of foods with a pH below 6.0 are vinegar, fruit juice and wine. Since the drink is traditionally made using vodka, ginger beer and lime juice, it definitely fails to meet that criteria."
Squeeze your lime juice in your cup and dump a whole bunch of mint in there. Smash that stuff together!
Next, throw your Vodka and Ginger Beer in the cup too.
Making a Champagne Mule? Now's the time to throw in that champagne! I'd keep the champagne flowing until that glass is pretty full, but that's up to you! ;)
Next add ice and garnish with more mint and a lime wedge. Then invite me over because it sounds like you're having a party and I want to come. :)
