Three Things You Should Know: Thursday May 3, 2018

posted by Aly Mac -

- Several horses were killed in a barn fire overnight in Ionia. The barn was north of Saranac on Sayles Rd near Hawley Highway. Police don’t know what started the fire. More here.

- If you live in Kent County, keep an eye on your mailboxes and bank accounts. Police say it’s been about a month of a criminal couple stealing identities out of mailboxes and signing up for credit cards with fraudulent info. Police say Ada and Lowell have been hyper-targets of the identity theft. More here.

- This Saturday is Bissell Pet Foundation’s Empty the Shelters. It’s the first year it’s gone national! 112 shelters in 13 states are offering FREE adoptions at participating shelters. If you’re thinking about it, make sure you fill out and submit adoption paperwork before you go Saturday. More here.
